Observations from the fans in the stands - Concord

Wow! What a difference a few days makes!! I hate to say it, but it was downright chilly tonight! Wasn't it just a few days ago that it was in the 90's and humid. Todays high was in the 70's with a cool breeze.

Our team did awesome the 2nd half! I think it was probably the best half we have played all year! And against one of the best teams in the area! I am confident the girls can build on that and have success in the rest of the season!

It was AGAIN roller derby night on the soccer field. Unfortunately this time the referee let it go on way too much! The shoving in the back works so well to get someone off the ball, so I can see why teams on both sides are tempted to use it! But, in my opinion, it is bad sportsmanship! Whether it is our team doing it, or the opposing team. And even worse than that, it can cause harm to the player being shoved. The coaches were also not happy with the roughness of the game and vocalized their concern to the middle ref multiple times. After a particularly rough shove which kept Cassie Dyksen on the ground, and stopped the game, assistant coach Tecia decided to tell the ref one more time to please call it. He followed thru with his warning and gave her a red card. We will miss her next game, but understand she was just very frustrated and concerned for the welfare of her players!

When the sun was setting, it made it very hard to see the ball. Especially on corner kicks. So proud the girl's worked hard and kept after the ball once they were able to see it again!!

Even though the record is not at all what anyone on the team, and especially the seniors were wanting, I still believe we are a fantastic team! Things will begin to turn around and it is still going to be a great year!
